loveJONES

Say baby, can I be your slave?

I’ve got to admit girl, you’re the shit girl

And I’m diggin’ you like a grave

Now do they call you daughter to the spinnin pulsar, or

Or maybe Queen of 2,000 moons

Sister to the distant, yet risin’ star

Is your name Yemaya?

Oh hell nah, it’s got to be Oshun

Oooh, is that a smile me put on your face child

Wide as a field of Jasmine and Glover

Talk that talk honey, walk that walk money

High on legs that’ll spite Jehovah

Shit, who am I?

It’s not important

But they call me brother to the Night

And right now

I’m the blues in your left thigh

Tryin’ to become the funk in your right

Who am I?

I’ll be whoever you say

But right now, I’m the sight raped hunter

Blindly pursuing you as my prey

And I just wanna give you injections, of sublime erections

And get you to dance to my rhythm

Make you dream archetypes, of black angels in flight

Upon wings, of distorted, contorted, metaphoric jism

Come on slim

Fuck yo’ man, I ain’t worried about him

It’s you who I wanna step to my scene

‘Cause rather than deal with the fallacy of this dry ass reality

I rather dance and romance your sweet ass, in a wet dream

Who am I?

Well they all call me brother to the Night

And right now, I’m the blues in your left thigh

Trying’ to become the funk in your right

Is that alright?

brainTAP

Out of pure curiousity and interest, I'm starting a new post called brainTAP. This is an interview with someone just to see where thier head is at. This Week's Anthony Lewis was Tapped.

Rai Gethers March 2 at 10:54pm

Why are you single?

Anthony Lewis March 2 at 10:59pm

It's a combination of things. For one, I had no confidence up until this year. That's THE most effective way to turn a woman away. Two, I'm shy. Even though I have confidence now, I still get butterflies approaching women...it's just the way I'm made; then, I'm a low-key person too, so it runs together. Three, I'm not what a typical woman wants. I'm nothing like Trey Songz, Drake, Blair Underwood, or whoever else. Women think 'nice guys' are predictable and soft and whatnot, so that detracts them from me.

RG: Explain/Describe the 'Nice Guy'.

AL: Polite, gentle, mannerable, giving of compliments, calm, accepting, a gentleman.

RG: What type of woman would best suit you, if any?

AL: I really don't know, to be honest. Just a down to earth young lady that could laugh, eat, think, and be real with me. I know it's vain, but I'd like for her to be fashionable as well...I really dig that in young ladies. But like I said, I don't really know.

RG: That's understandable. I’m not here to judge. I’m going to assume you don't know what would be your ideal woman, physically, but just to get a direction, would she be a plain jane, pretty girl, or close to Hollywood’s standards? Or somewhere in between?

AL: Probably a pretty girl. I like young ladies that care about their appearance...I just don't like the snobby ones, or the ones that think their appearance will get them somewhere. As long as you and I (more so you, lol) think you look nice, that's as far as it should go. I'm not into vanity...just a little confidence.

RG: is confidence the key?

AL: It is...I lived without it for so long...and now I know just how important it is. I'm not saying I'm obsessed with it, but it's one of the first things I notice and look for in a young lady. Funny thing is, I'm not a stickler...once she shows me she has it, I won't be looking for it or anything like that. It's really just a perk, more than anything. I'm only big on the "laugh, eat, think, and be real with me" part.

RG: Don't you feel like those are things that would just come natural in a relationship?

AL: They should, but not all young ladies are like that...some of them are gold diggers, overly promiscuous, extremely vain, spoiled, and immature, you name it. I don't ask for a lot, but it can be hard to find.

RG: You're preaching to the choir.

Would you want someone who complements your flaws or looks pass them?

AL: It depends on the flaw. A little of both. If you complement them all, I'll end up being "too perfect"...if you look past them all, we'll never be able to mesh. Has to be a balance. Scratch "it depends on the flaw."

RG: I’m loving this. =)

first does it turn you on if a woman approaches you?

Secondly how should she approach?

AL: I'll be honest. I've never had a woman approach me. If one were to, I would just like for her to say "Hi, how are you? *I answer* That's good...my name is so-and-so, and I'd like to converse with you, if you're interested." It's so simple and polite...it'd be hard to say no. lol.

RG: Lol... Ok. On to the things I consider basics...turn ons? /offs?

AL: Um...let's see. Turn ons would be...a nice classy outfit, HEELS (had to emphasize, lol), intelligence, a nice smile, great conversation, subtle confidence.

Turn offs...'ghettoness,' chipped nail polish, too much skin/cleavage showing, really bad or nappy weave, too much confidence, lack of intelligence.

RG: Ok why HEELS? Lol

AL: I don't know...I just love it when women wear heels! Lol.

RG: Ha.ok.

Give me you in a nutshell

AL: Um...an intelligent gentleman that you'll misunderstand until you learn to love him.

RG: :D (Speechless....) wow. That’s not what I expected.

What do you think your purpose is?

AL: I believe my purpose on this earth is to illuminate minds. I'm here to write and speak messages that upon reception brighten the thoughts of those who read and hear them. In life, things happen. Part of my job is to help people understand why, and how. If that can help them repeat, prevent, or just gain clarity on something, then I'm doing what I need to do.

RG: Besides writing and educating, what are your passions?

AL: I love music, and I really like art and fashion...I like to make music, and want to learn how to play a piano. I want a house/condo filled with art, and I'd like to start my own line/lend the design to a line of clothing.

RG: What type of music?

Casual clothing?

AL: Any type of music, outside of that death metal stuff. I love how music says what the soul cannot literally speak. And I'm a huge fan of Ralph Lauren, so clothing like his...that refined, country club, classy, timeless style.

RG: Would you consider those goals or dreams?

Male and female?

AL: Um...desires. They don't have to be done, I would just like for them to happen. And yes, male and female.

RG: excuse my absence, facebook wasn't liking me.

What inspires you?

AL: It's cool. Good question....honestly, I'm inspired by life. Just being here makes me want to do my best.

RG: Does your family play a major role in your life?

AL: Yes. That's my foundation. No matter what, that's the first and last thing I am thankful for. I don't talk to them much, but I love knowing that they're there.

RG: What’s your biggest fear?

AL: Sorry for the hiatus, I was at work. My biggest fear is not doing what I'm capable of. I have so much potential, and so many possibilities...selling myself short would be a travesty.

RG: You're fine; I went out with my father then had a meeting.

Are you sure you’re single? Because who wouldn't want you lol.

Monogamy vs. polygamy? What’s your take on it?

AL: That's nice! And yeah, I'm sure. Lol. I have no problem with religious polygamy. If that's a part of your religion, or even your culture, then that's you. I can't stand when anyone else does it though...if that's not a part of your lifestyle, then it means you're being unfaithful...which should be a crime. I believe in monogamy. Giving all of you to ONE person.

RG: I know you just had a bornday not too long ago, Jan 22nd? I think, sorry if I’m wrong but you are a Pisces?

Pisces are said to be devoted, compassionate, creative people as well as indecisive, shy and trustworthy...would you say you fit all of these characteristics?

AL: February 24th, and yes...that fits me to a tee.

RG: Oops I’m sorry, I def meant Feb. but I remember sending you a happy bornday comment. I feel bad now
. =(

Ideally, when would you like to be married, if ever?

AL: Don't feel bad. It's cool. And I don't know when...just whenever the time is right. I'm not rushing it, but I'll be happy when it happens. I could get married right now and be happy...even without ever having a dating life. I would love to just love that one lady.

RG: Describe the perfect date for you....if I’m not being repetitive

AL: Um...a movie and dinner. Go see something nice, then chill and talk about it over some good food. I love to eat, and I'd love for her to enjoy herself at the movies. Then, another night, I'd like to do a night at an art gallery. A little wine and art, then a nice dinner. I'm pretty simple.

RG: Krause art gallery on Peters is pretty nice btw and a few others.

Do you cook?

AL: Ok, I'll have to remember that. And no, I don't...I wish I did though, I'd love for a date to be just me cooking for my girl, then playing the piano for her while she eats by candlelight. That's one of my dream dates.

RG: Geesh. Yu play? What other hidden talents do you have?

AL: I want to learn how to play, lol. Um...I can draw, I make beats, and I'm a good teacher.

RG: Hmmm... Ok.

How important is physical relations in a relationship to you?

AL: It's not, at all. I'm not a sexual person...it's the last thing on my mind. Also, I plan on staying a virgin until I get married, or at least find a special someone to share that with. Who's to say that my sexual side won't show up soon...I'm still growing. lol. But as of right now, it's not important to me.

RG: Dig that answer

Mr. Lewis thank you for allowing me to tap into your brain for a lil while. I've enjoyed your answers. If you wanna ask me questions don't hesitate, i’m an open person. Thanks again.

AL: You're very welcome; I've enjoyed it as well!

Friday night, I had a great night celebrating Bobby Creekwater's Bornday wit the BGOV fam. I truly enjoyed myself. Creek just released his mixtape on his bornday,March 4th. Here's a personal message from Mr.Creekwater himself.
" Back to Briefcase 2 is the first installment of 8 mixtapes that will be released between now and October. This particular project is me reconnecting with not only the streets, but the fans that have supported my music unconditionally. This project is meant to further showcase my abilities and also serve as a launching pad for things to come. We at BGOV pride ourselves in making quality music…timeless music to be exact. Anything less is the competition!"

Adam & Eve, Part One

This morning in College English, We were having a Sacratic Seminar on Canterbury Tales and we decided to do a jigsaw since as a class we read seperate tale's.
*Jigsaw-Where seperate groups discuss what has happened within thier own group so everyone can be on the same page.

Well if yu have read Caterbury Tales you know that Chaucer portrays two perspectives--The Poet & The Pilgrim and he tells several tales from each charcters ponit of view. In the Wife of Bath's Tale, there is a widow who has had 5 husbands but believes she has done nothing wrong who own a rooster who has 7 Hen wives. Do yu see something wrong with that? The question posed was What do you believe the theme has to do with the Rooster/Hen relationships?

[WARNING:ATTN:RaiPSA: I'M ABOUT TO TAP INTO SOME SERIOUS STUFF. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO VOICE OPINIONS BY LEAVING COMMENTS,SENDING ME EMAILS or NOTES,& IF WE CLOSE TEXT ME. THIS ISN'T TO STEP ON TOES OR WHAT HAVE YU,JUST PERSONAL.]

So the group went into how Chaucer portrays ploygamy in society. The only male of the group goes back to talk about how the wife has had 7 husbands and believes nothing is wrong and how her husband has dies because of her going back to Adam and Eve and how woman is man's downfall. [The husband was unfaithful and was having horrible dreams about his death due to his checting ways and the wife tells him don't worry about his dreams so when death comes he's unsure if it's a dream or the real thing.] Me being who I am, I challange him by asking if God created Eve out Adam's rib and Adam was to protect her. When Eve was swindled by the snake,YES SHE LEFT THE COVERING OF HER HUSBAND(he's not superman he couldn't radar her out of their "living space"),she ate the apple. Then offered Adam some,Adam didn't have to take the apple nor eat the apple. Eve didn't force it into his mouth, so why is she to blame and not share it equally?

“Eve was not taken out of Adam’s head to top him, neither out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him.”
–Matthew Henry

Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Notice that God commands BOTH Adam and Eve to rule the earth and over all creation. God didn’t say, “Adam, you are to rule and Eve, well, you can go do some dishes, maybe fold a little laundry…” They were both called to rule, complementing each other, supporting each other, serving each other, sacrificing for the other, and deferring to each other.

SO THEN IN QUESTION ARE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
(opinions are your answers)
  • Are Men and Women ever equal?
  • Adam and Eve, Adam,or Eve? Who's the Blame?

As stated before PLEASE FEEL FREE TO VOICE OPINIONS BY LEAVING COMMENTS,SENDING ME EMAILS or NOTES,& IF WE CLOSE TEXT ME. THIS ISN'T TO STEP ON TOES OR WHAT HAVE YU,JUST PERSONAL OPINIONS.
