Just Because

Just because I thought after all this time you desereved the truth.

I never loved you.
at least not like you thought I did.

                                Or. Should've.

Since day one I knew we would never be

                               but
        I lead you astray  anyway.

I was seeing someone else

Even though I was never really seeing you.

Yea. That whole title thing?
"I don't do titles." or "I don't do significant others."

I didn't really lie. I just didn't tell the     WHOLE  truth.

Now just because I feel you deserve it.

I'll let you know I screwed a few times on the side.

I know I said I wanted to wait til it was right.

All those times we talked and texted,

those pet names I used but I never called you baby.

That's cause that's reserved.

Just because I thought you deserved the truth,

I don't love you.
I didn't want you.
It's all someone else.

just because this is what he said to me.
I'm sayin it all back to you.

help.

Dear Ladies,
Let me start by saying I address you as a lady so hopefully you act as such. Now,STOP TEARING THESE MEN DOWN. They truly need our support even though they may not seem they do. Don't crush their pride or bruise their egos.one single word or tone or facial
expression can send a man into a
hole so deep you'd have better luck finding osama. A man ’ s ego is
vulnerable , especially to a woman he finds value in , such that he could be crushed , even by accident.Be a good listener ! Take interest in what he
has to say to you and try to give your 100 %
attention to him when he talks .let he is smart and that you
value what he has to say. Do not pounce
on him every time he makes a mistake. Although he may act as superman,we know he's only human. Love him, care. That's what he needs. Uplift him.

Love,
Rai

Letter from Your Masterpiece: Letter to the World

Dear World,

I am only human. I am God's child but not God himself. I am not perfect and do not wish to be so. I strive to do my best, for my unborn,my city,my future,my past, and my foundation. I can't hold the world on my shoulders no matter how hard I try but I promise I won't let you fall. I'll always be honest. I'll always care. But while I'm working hard,I won't conform to you. Nor for you. I'll adapt to my surroundings but only for the better. I can only be me. No Less. Always more. because I know what I'm worth. So world,I won't disappoint you as you.

B WORD.

"I'm in love with your business."

Ambitious girl, the drive-drive me crazy
I’m tryna stay with you, lay with you
I’ll pay you tuition, pray with you if you aint intuition
I’m tryna f-ck the sh-t out your aspirations
See, the last one I dated, I hated
We wake up, i go to work, she leave out
Come back with some make up, high heels, and a purse, or
Worse I ask, “Babygirl, what you aspire to be?”
She reply to me like, “why you perspiring me?” b-tch..
Pardon me if I’m sweating you but,
I wanna see something else in you before I invest in you
Ambitious girl, (what you sitting for)
I’d rather you tell me to hit you later,
Because you gotta finish a paper
Then to be in my face asking for a rozay cup
See these bxtches can’t cut in yo business
I’m in love with your business
And your productivity is the reason I intrest, ambitious girl
See, I like the person that you are,
But I’m in love with the person that you have potential to be
and all your dreams sharing with me
and your secrets baring with me
and the flaws, you aint even got to mention to me,
Ambitious girl, you just wanna win, and you’d rather chase your dreams,
Then to try to chase these men
That try to chase these skirts
That try to chase these shots with flavors that not even as sweet as her
My ambitious girl, I wont forget you,
I just reflect on how I aint met you, yet boo
You somewhere, getting your life in order
So for the time being, i hope this might support her
Support her, or work her, she worth it

Go Girl. Go Girl.

Go Girl.

-Thanks Wale.

Starting Line Up:Where There Are Questions,There are Answers.

The questions that come with this are usually;

Does my other have a team?

Am I on THE Team?

Should I have a team?

First questions first, NOT EVERYBODY HAS A TEAM. --Personally, I don't.-- Some people do. If your other has opposite sex friends, believe they are just that. Unless,it is an overactive friendship. There might be several of these people depending on your partner. If you are curious,Ask. You do have the right to know, especially if you are uncertain.

Are you on THE Team? HMM.....chances are yes. But where? That you won't know until the obvious factors arise. S/He,if they have a team, might have fill you are or aren't qualified for a positions until they better know you, understand you, or loose/gain a member. As the coach, they are looking for whoever will better benefit them.Always keep that in mind.

You don't need a team. Let me say it again,YOU DON'T NEED A TEAM. If you are in a good relationship or forming a good relationship, this is totally unnecessary. This is where TRUST comes in. Although your partner may not have all of your trust, it is ok to leave everyone behind if you feel its right. Also, If you have other motives such as education and a career, you don't need a team. Remember these are first priorities. Your partner should never interfere with your goals, ambitions, dreams, etc.
God is always your number 1 player.

***Don't assume anything. You may not be on THE Team. S/He may not have a team. You don't need a team. Don't ruin a good relationship because of insecurities. This article is not here for that. It is for pure entertainment and truth.***

Starting Line Up

Lately it's been alot ALOT of talk about cuffing season and "THE Team".

What is THE Team?

  • The Team”: all members are someone of interest on one of the several possible levels outlined below
    ~
Self explanatory usage. In short, it’s where you want to be.

Who Is one THE Team?
 #TEAMTerminology
  • Might make the draft”: When a person is seen to have potential, they might make the draft. Team Owner is still deciding whether or not to draft them for The Team.
    • ~ Met this guy on Saturday – tall, handsome, smart…if he’s single, he might make the draft.”
  • In the game”: you’re playing well, probably getting regular dates, either haven’t screwed up (making you part of the starting line-up) or have rectified a screw up well enough to retain your status and still have potential
    • ~ “Oh, Clifford? He’s in the game – we had dinner Wednesday and I’m seeing him again on Friday.”
  • “On the bench”: you are on The Team, but on the sidelines either as punishment and having been downgraded, or a simple “time out” due to better players in the game – there just isn’t room for everyone in every game.
    • ~ “Bad news: I had to bench the new guy. Blew up my phone and left 3 voicemails in one hour. We don’t get down like that.”
  • ”Team Captain”: you are the LeBron, the front runner for Winter Boo status and considered an MVP. Don’t get it twisted though. See that full bench behind you? They’re ready to take your spot. Stay sharp!
    • ~ “He sent my favorite flower, loves my writing, and can make
  • “Visiting All-Star”: you are worthy of being on The Team and are rarely benched or traded, rather allowed to get in the game when the team schedule allows. You are a Free Agent, and The Team is not trying to sign you to a contract. You are only asked to show up and suit up on game day.
    • ~ “Nah, I’m coming to the party solo. XYZ is just a visiting all-star, he’s not my man.”
  • “Cleared the Bench”: got rid of the “standbys”. This can happen for any number of reasons, including the request of a particularly special Team Captain or even just a general want to upgrade the talent. As Team Owner, I might just go and clear it out of being underwhelmed. Can’t have a losing team, and an empty bench beats losers sitting on it.  Team Owner can draft again when moved to do so.
    • ~Self explanatory usage. I told everyone to STEP!

  • “Traded”: got rid of one, replaced with another – even a benched player CAN be traded for another benched player
    • ~ “Yeah, he didn’t last. Had to trade him before we even got to the second date.”

This, ladies and gentlemen, is THE Team.

'Lock Me Down'

It’s around that time,huh?

“Cuffing Season”

All the statuses and tweets about wanting a boo, It’s getting cold or hoping to have someone for the holidays are flooding my timeline. I think it’s funny. Why only want someone only a few months out of the year instead the entire 12? It’s crazy because both men and women complain everyday about how the opposite ain’t nothing but who’s the blame especially with situations like this?  No one is the blame but yourself; if it’s truly your fault. Instead of complaining of what he or she doesn’t have or what you can’t find(although in some situations this maybe true—there has gotta be one), maybe you should take a good long look at yourself and change what you don’t feel about yourself.  Become who you’d like to be. Most people say they know everything can’t be perfect but still expect it to be. Let me say nothing is perfect. You might not just meet “Mr.Right” or the “Wifey” type right away. You might have issues you will have to resolve. You might have to forget about your pride. You might have to let go of that old flame to start this new fire. You might have to put your heart out there but I’m sure when it’s all said and done it’ll be worth it.   So let’s try and make this “cuffing season” a little different and extend it. I’m not saying settle down especially if you’re not ready but let’s make it work, even if it means going against the odds. But then again everybody is a knowitall and I’m just saying what’s on my brain. Y’all ain’t listening.

Thunder and Sunbeams.

COMPLETE
* I in Intalics
* He in Bold
Complete

Let’s go away to space so we can witness
Thirty-two sunrises
And thirty-two sunsets every day
Who's flying, you or I?
We both are
Sounds like a worthwhile trip
What's next after our two thirty-twos?
Return the earth and live life
Just me and you
In the places where nightfall
And the day tumble down, peacefully complete
Space was just an assessment
Passed with flying comets and shooting stars.
Welcome to Mars
Nightfall and day tumble down, in sync
Complete
Almost like it both were compliments to the other
Twisted sweetly around in symbiotic existence
Amongst falling stars
All ours
Endlessly touching
Suns, galaxies, each other
She’s sunbeams
He's thunder
On earth they're made for one another
His sound is for her light
Her blaze intensifies his timbre
Deafening
Blinding
Great and terrible all the same
Terrible that something like this had never existed
Great
So great because now it does
Now more than ever, before this collision of power
One can see a great work of love
An act of kindness so bizarre that...
...that words fail
Those syllables so powerful
Falter
At the altar
That alters them, makes them power
Energy immortal
Amaranthine
Three words
Three syllables that never fail.
That live as immortal as they
Gasoline
Propane
They fuel their power, their desire
Blooming like a flower
A flower born of her sun
Cooled in his starlit shad
Perfectly
A true symbol of the three
Words
Syllables
Unfailing, enduring
And more beautiful than the word itself
So in sync
Nightfall and day tumble down as one
Complete
Just
So
Complete

I wish u knew how much I cared

u'd see my love is true by the life we'd share

Silly Bandz: Banned?

The Bandz are now contraband. Schools in several states, including New York, Texas, Florida and Massachusetts, have blacklisted Silly Bandz, those stretchy, colorful bracelets that are creeping up the forearms of school kids across the U.S. And starting this week, all 800-some kids at my son's elementary school in Raleigh, N.C., were commanded to leave at home their collections of rubber band–like bracelets, which retail for about $5 per pack of 24. What could possibly be so insidious about a cheap silicone bracelet?

"It's a distraction," says Jill Wolborsky, a fourth-grade teacher at my son's school, who banned them from her classroom before the principal implemented a schoolwide ban. One student stole some confiscated Bandz from her desk, choosing them over the cash in her drawer. (See pictures of teens in America.)

Students fiddle with them during class and arrange swaps - trading, say, a bracelet with a mermaid for one with a dragon - when they should be concentrating on schoolwork, teachers say. Sometimes a trade goes bad - kids get buyer's remorse too - and hard feelings, maybe even scuffles, ensue.

That's what prompted Karen White, principal of Snow Rogers Elementary School in Gardendale, Ala., in October to become one of the first administrators to forbid students their Bandz. "We try not to limit their freedom of expression and what they wear, but when this became a problem, I knew we had to nip it in the bud pretty quickly," says White, who has since extended an olive branch in the form of monthly Silly Bandz days. (See pictures of a public boarding school in Washington, D.C.)

Silly Bandz are the latest in a long list of kid-centric fads - in the tradition of Cabbage Patch Kids, Beanie Babies, PokÉmon cards and Crocs. BCP Imports LLC, the small business in Toledo, Ohio, that's behind the bracelets, was not prepared for the frenzy. It's increased its workforce from 20 employees to 200 in the past year and just this week added 22 phone lines to keep up with inquiries. The company sells millions of packs a month, and Robert Croak, the president, can still hardly believe it. (He took my call after hanging up with Macy's, which is interested in creating a Silly Bandz float for its storied Thanksgiving Day parade.)

Croak got inspired about three years ago at a product show in China, where a Japanese artist had devised a rubber band cute enough to escape the trash bin. Though Silly Bandz have been out for two years, they began catching on a year ago - Alabama was an early adopter, as were New Jersey and Tennessee. They're just now gaining traction in California and Texas. (See where jewelry is fitting into green designs for 2010.)
"They're getting banned because kids play with them so much," says Croak, who maintains they're the right product at the right time, a cost-conscious trinket in tough economic times that can even be a learning tool for little ones, kind of like flexible flash cards.

His company receives about 500 fan letters a week. One, signed by a 10-year-old named Logan Librett and a few of his friends in New Rochelle, N.Y., suggested a way to circumvent all the bothersome Silly Bandz restrictions: "Some schools in New York have banned them, but we have ideas that might change that ... clear silly bands that teachers can't see and only glow in the dark."

Just in case the company bites, Librett offered his address. He's still waiting.

?uestion is,

what are you willing to do to get what you say you want? Are you willing to discipline your mind and your mouth? Are you willing to get up eaqrly, stay up late, and work hard all hours between? Are you willing to work for free? Are your willing to do it with excellence? Are you willing to do it even when your best friend shakes her head, laughs at you, and tells you you are crazy?

The question is, what are you willing to give up to get what you say you want? Are you willing to give up bad habits, negative thinking, and negative people? Are you willing to take a risk and put your ass ont he line when all signs indicate that you are totally insane? Are you willing to stand up for yourself? To speak up for yourself? Are you willing to walk awaqy from people who will be very upset when you do stand up for  and speak up? Are you willing to walk away from eveything you know to get to something and someplace you can only hope will be what you really want?

The question is, who are you willing to be? Are you willing to be a free and independent thinker? Are you willing to be the one who calls the shots? Are you willing to follow when need be? Are you willing to have fun? Are you willing to work hard? Are you willing to live in total peace and joy? All by youself,if necessary? As long as you can find one excuse not to answer these questions affirmatively, you will never what you say you want.

It's My World

shout out to my hometown homie,T.Real,
who is the reason for this post.

Yesterday I was feeling kinda down and lonely, and it didn't help that I was alone the ENTIRE day. I cleaned up, sat around, watched a few movies then Brown Sugar came on. I love Brown Sugar.[not as much as Love Jones or Poetic Justice tho.] That's when it hit me forreal,I wanted some attention. My folks finally arrived home but that wasn't the type of attention I needed. My Homie hit me up with his usual text, "What you doin 2night?". I knew he was tryna chill but I didn't know he was feeling how I was. We went to see Kickass[btw, is a stupid yet halarious movie. I do recommend it if you seriously need a laugh && if you're a guy(Like the homie), you'll LOVE that Mustang.] After that we headed to the gas station and got our normal, me- a Arizona Lemonade him- a Red,yes Red(we're from Memphis) Powerade. We got back to my house and were chilling on the step and he did his ramblings of stories that I'd missed and flashbacks. He rambled longer than normal, knowing something was wrong, hoping I would start rambling to him. I never did. So he asked, No answer. & Again. No Answer. He told me he wouldn't leave til I told him, we'd sit til the Sun came up if we'd have to. No,we wouldn't.He could.I told him it wasn't his concern. He knows me TOO well."If it didn't concern me,you would have told me." Sad part is he was right. I still wouldn't open my mouth so as it grew earlier in the morn,he grew restless and impaitent. So to the 'BluBelle'[what I named his car =)] he went and told me he'd call as he drove.  I went into the house, the phone rang_Homie caliing. I answer-"Come Back." "Come Back?" "Come Back. I wanna talk." "IIght." "K." -CLICK-
Two minutes later his hoppin out Belle and on the step. "Talk." "I didn't think you'd come back" [shakes his head] "I'm here, wassup?" "I just got alotta things on my brain." "Like?" [he looks at the sky,it's dark,2:35ish,bout to rain. -HE HATES THE RAIN.-] "It's about to rain? [nods his head.]Go home. I'll call you and tell you." [he chuckles] "Iight."
I go into the house, phone rings_Homie."Hold on. K?" 'iight." Speak to the folks I love, head to my room. I start to spill it little by little. Then he interrupts, something he rarely does especailly to speak about hisself. He starts to tell me things about his past, things he's never told anyone. He asks me a qestion he's asked me before but I've always given the same answer,"Nope." "I don't believe you one f*ckin' bit." This beloved question, "Do you mind if I talked to ------?" That person would be my bestest. I told him I don't mind, I just want you to be happy. [He snapped.] "It's not about what I want or anyone else. When I make decisions I make them with me in mind, with other's feelings into consideration. If this was Rai's scratch that Rachael's world what would you want? What do you want!?" [I'm SILENT. stunned, confused, and deep in thought.] He goes on to tell me what he wants, which let me say seem so simple yet I know they aren't. By this time he's arrived home and i'm still quiet. "I'll call you back." "Alright." -CLICK-
WHAT DO I WANT? WHAT DOES RACHAEL WANT?,
the last thing i said and thought before I dozed off to sleep before recieving a phone call.

I texted Homie at 6:46am to tell him what I wanted.

  1. My family to be straight.

  2. Money for out of state tutition

  3. Higher GPA than a 3.0

  4. "A man who compliments me,supports me,trust and respects me,and is doing this own thing with no problem spending a little downtime with me. Someone who I can enjoy plays and dinner with,or just play Xbox, chilling at the house."
Well this ain't my world but i'll work hard to get the things I want and deserve ,how about you?
WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Can I save you from you?

This post is inspired by Drake’s song titled “Fall for your type”.

WHAT TYPE DO YOU ALWAYS FALL FOR?

With me, I always fall for the guy who ends up being someone totally different. OR. He's everything I want but too old. I end up seeing a side of him I never seen before. It’s like I fell in love with someone else and got the short end out of the deal. This is why when I date someone now I try my best to let my guards down but I am NO fool.I take my time getting to know someone and if that person does not understand they obviously do not want me for the long-run. In order to give love another chance, you have to learn how to not blame the new person for the old person’s mistakes. That is an EPIC fail to a new start. Also, to love again you must eventually let those walls down and let love in. But this time around, make sure that person will catch you when you fall.

TWLOHA Day

Write Love on Her Arms is a “non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.” The idea of a TWLOHA day is quite simple: write the word “love” on your arm on April 21st. The goal is to raise awareness of those who are hurting as well as promote TWLOHA’s work to provide hope, help, and support.

Excerpt from TWLOHA’s vision statement:

The vision is that community and hope and help would replace secrets and silence.
The vision is people putting down guns and blades and bottles.
The vision is that we can reduce the suicide rate in America and around the world.
The vision is that we would learn what it means to love our friends, and that we would love ourselves enough to get the help we need.
The vision is better endings. The vision is the restoration of broken families and broken relationships. The vision is people finding life, finding freedom, finding love. The vision is graduation, a Super Bowl, a wedding, a child, a sunrise. The vision is people becoming incredible parents, people breaking cycles, making change.
The vision is the possibility that your best days are ahead.
The vision is the possibility that we're more loved than we'll ever know.
The vision is hope, and hope is real.
You are not alone, and this is not the end of your story.

Dotty....

Dorothy Height, a longtime leader of the U.S. civil rights movement, the chairwoman of the National Council of Negro Women, and the 10th Delta Sigma Theta President, died on today in Washington. She was 98.

A civil and human rights leader, women’s rights pioneer and staunch advocate for social justice, Dr. Height was
a strategist in the struggle for equality for all people for more than a half a century. She was often the loney
woman at the table strategizing with world renowned Civil Rights leaders such as: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
Whitney H. Young, A. Phillip Randolph, James Farmer, Roy Wilkins and John Lewis.

“The world knows Dr. Height as the ‘Godmother of the Civil Rights Movement,’ but to the members of Delta
Sigma Theta, she was so much more,” said Cynthia Butler-McIntyre, National President of Delta Sigma Theta.
“Dr. Height was a role model, mentor, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. She leaves behind an
extraordinary legacy that will inspire us all to work toward effecting change with the vigor and tenacity that she
embodied.”

Dr. Height served as an advisor to Eleanor Roosevelt on Civil Rights issues and was a driving force behind the
development of policies affecting women, families and children, as well as social welfare, economic
development and civil and human rights. A devoted student of Mary McLeod Bethune, founder of the NCNW
and honorary member of Delta Sigma Theta, Dr. Height was committed to keeping her vision alive. She
received hundreds of honors and awards, including the Medal of Freedom, presented by Bill Clinton, and the
Congressional Gold Medal, presented by President George W. Bush.
